Chinese New Energy Vehicles Industry: What now?
After years of hype and reckless development, China's new energy vehicle industry finally returns to a coolheaded and discreet way of thinking and doing. Under the pressure of oil crisis and environmental issues, and lured by the pie of world’s biggest automotive market, both domestic and foreign corporations are looking to the East. However, due to lack of regulation and standards and arguments over the roadmap, Chinese enterprises have yet reached a consensus on many crucial matters.
On the other hand, the government has launched many policies for the promotion of NEVs. More pilot cities are offering favorable incentives to customers and manufacturers alike. Right before the inauguration of the much expected national development plan, the opportunity and challenge lie upon each other as never before. It's no doubt that NEVs will pave the way for a promising industry, but the industry has yet a long way to go.
